LOVEFiLM is now available on your Wii, which means you can stream thousands of great films & TV shows if you have i. a Wii, ii. a LOVEFiLM subscription, and iii. a broadband internet connection.
If you’re not sure how to connect your Wii to the internet, our instructional videos will take you through the process, step-by-step (depending on whether you have a wired or wireless internet connection).
Once you’re online, start the Wii Shop Channel and then go to Wii Channels to find LOVEFiLM. The application is free to download and install, so you can start the process immediately.
When LOVEFiLM has been installed on your Wii, you’ll find our logo on your Wii Menu every time you turn on your Wii.
We’ve designed the application specifically for the Wii, so you can find plenty of fantastic family films & TV shows using either the pointer or the directional-pad on your Wii Remote.
Nothing is downloaded – all titles begin streaming as soon as you press the “Play” button (you don’t have to wait for the whole thing to download) and you can jump to any point in the film or episode at any time.
And if you started watching a LOVEFiLM title on a different device, your Wii application will remember where you stopped, and will ask if you want to watch from the beginning or resume from where you left off.
We strongly recommend that you have a broadband internet connection speed of at least 2Mbps for the best possible viewing experience (Wii does not support HD playback, of course, so it’s SD titles across the board).
You can browse for movies & TV shows in several ways – by genre, or by using our hand-crafted collections, or by looking through the unique LOVEFiLM Picks and Most Viewed lists. You can also search our catalogue by title or actor/director.
LOVEFiLM on the Wii has all the great titles that you’ve come to associate with LOVEFiLM, and it’s really easy to use too. Happy Instant Wii viewing!

Fantastic news – an excuse to dig out the Wii from the cupboard.
Now, just one thing – Lovefilm on Western Digital’s WDTV live box. When? Nearly 2 years now. Come on, give us another early Christmas present. You know you want to
Great to see lovefilm instant on another console, any plans to bring it to apple/android phones and tablets? Surely this is needed to catch up with competitors?
Great news for those still with a Wii hooked up. A good start non the less addressing the overwhelming number of devices that instant will not work with, come on lovefilm! get your streaming delivery sorted so that all the other devices, media servers, home theater systems, phone and tablets can watch instantly online too.
Man, I initially thought you were talking about the WiiU.
Would be nice to have that enabled, any idea when that will be? :p
Speaking of WiiU could you poke someone to add the WiiU as a separate category on the website. Having to sift through Wii games to find the new WiiU ones is a pain.
It is really great to see how many devices keep being added to the list
The most frustrating thing for me, however, is when a movie pops into my head and I think – yes, I want to watch that tonight, surely that’s on Instant… only to find that it isn’t. I don’t know how it is decided which titles are on instant and which aren’t, but it would be great if there was a button, perhaps when you go to the page, under the “watch trailer” button, called “Request it on Instant”. You could then see what the most popular films for Instant are. When it became available, an email could be sent to the people who have requested it… Even if it never actually came onto instant, it would also give me a hope that perhaps I could watch “that movie” at some point in the future. (It was Apollo 13, by the way!)
When will the PS3 have HD movies?
Release Lovefilm Instant on Android!!!!
I am a paying Lovefilm customer and I find this lack of support for Android devices frustrating!
Getting Lovefilm instant on android should be your top priority, not the Wii! which hardly anyone has connected to the Internet..
Cool, but is there any news on when HD streaming will be coming to Sony Blu-ray players?
Hi
I agree with most of the comments this last week about the previously viewed button. I don’t always watch a film all the way through at one go. I used to be able to pick up virtually where I left off very quickly. Now, I have to plough through hundreds of titles to get to the one I want. I get bored with this and so give up. I’m not very keen on the new website as a whole, as you’ve probably gathered. Martin
My feedback is on the new style rental list but I cannot comment on that part of the blog?
On the new rental list page there is not a place to redeem your Filmextra credits. This looks like an oversight. I have 3 credits but cannot redeem them on the new style rental list. Otherwise it looks OK.
Enjoying lovefilm on the wii. I have the same comment about the wii as others have made about the website. We need a recently watched list. I tend to move from one device to another so picking up where I’ve left off is important. It is however great to have it on the wii and will definitely be a factor in me deciding whether to stay with lovefilm or move to a rival (I’m trying both at the mo). The decision will now boil down to the catalog which my daughter tells me is better on lovefilm (though I can’t find series 2 of the Killing).
Well done and keep up the improvements.
Fantastic! I have just discovered this facility and I’m loving it! No more having to connect my laptop with wires and cables to the TV. No buffering problems. Thank you LoveFilm!
Great news. Have been waiting for this development not having any other consoles or internet ready TV, the connecting of the PC to the TV was a pain for family viewing. Thanks Lovefilm
SIR/MADAM AM IN SECOND MONTH OF SUBSCRIPTION SO FAR BEEN ONLY ABLE TO WATCH OUT OF 11 FILMS ONLY TWO ARE AVAILABLE WHY??? IS THIS ANY HELP WOULD BE HELPFUL SUNDAY1100HRS
Brilliant, I’ll be trying this later:)
Any word on an app for Roku? It was all over the tech blogs at the beginning of this year that Roku was next in line for LoveFilm streaming, but so far… nothing.
thankyou been waiting for love film on wii nintendo a long time thankyou. i will now be ditching netflix
Like the app, just a couple of suggestions. If playing a movie on the TV have the game pad screen turn off after a minute so it doesn’t waste battery life. The volume when played through the game pad seams quiet compared to other apps/games.
Also give the people working on the android app a Christmas bonus to motivate them to finish is asap.
i’ve followed all the instructions and the lovefilm logo is not there. help. if it’s not available on the Wii i gotta cancel.
Great that LOVEFiLM is now on the Wii. Still getting used to the system but one draw back noticed already is no ‘last viewed’ button. Any chance of this being added?
May I presume that the Wii version will still work after the first week in January 2013 when you shift from Flash to Silverlight please?

I can’t find a number of the series which i can watch on my laptop on the Wii version. – Why is this?
Brilliant. Have been waiting for this for a very long time. I was tempted to subscribe to another film streaming company as they were already providing a service on the Wii. Well done. Top marks.
In addition you your LOVEFILM picks and other hand-crafted collections, can you add my hand-creafted collection too? My ‘watchlist’?
Look forward to your most positive reply!
